Outreach & Pastoral Care Ministries

Bereavement Ministry

The basis for this Ministry is found in Matthew 5:4 - "Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted." This ministry offers two areas of support for grieving families:

  1. We provide Greeters (Hospitality) for the Funeral Mass. We also send a sympathy card with a beautiful Holy card. We make follow up calls to the family to see if any help or resources are needed.

Volunteers are needed. Contact Ellen Florea at 480-816-3551 for more information.

  2. We offer a reception after the funeral Mass if requested by the family. Volunteers are needed to help set up and clean up after the reception and volunteers are also needed to send in baked goods.

Please call Ellen Florea at 480-816-3551 for more information.

Ministry of Care

The Ministry of Care offers the spirit of compassion and presence to the sick, needy and bereaved of our Parish community, in the name of Christ and His church. Our certified Ministers of Care bring the Holy Eucharist to hospitals, nursing homes, group and living centers, rehab facilities and private homes. We also support the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick, and arranging for pastoral visits for Reconciliation. All training necessary to become a Minister of Care will be provided.

If you feel called to this ministry or for more information, please call Mary Harty-Hill at 602-370-9104.

St. Vincent de Paul

The purpose of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul is to fulfill the two great commandments - love of God and love of neighbor.

We seek to grow spiritually in our meetings through prayer and sharing of our faith. We seek out those who are in need, both materially and spiritually, and help where we can.

Sometimes we have the resources to help - sometimes we can do no more than listen and comfort. We respond to the opportunities God presents to us. In coming closer to the needy, we come closer to God.

You have neighbors who have need of your talents, your know-how, your concern and your love. Your Parish Conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul invites you to join us in spiritual growth and quiet works of charity.

For more information, please call the Parish Office at 480-661-9843.
