Priests Convocation Sep 14-16

This week Fr. Simon and I will be in Flagstaff at the annual convocation for priests in the diocese in Phoenix. This is an important time for all of us priest; there is a program of continuing education, we hear from our bishop, and especially we get time together. In our large, busy diocese we don’t get to see each other very often.

Recently at a daily Mass the opening song was: We will build the City of God! Yes, all of us are called to help build the City ofGod, the Kingdom among us. September is a time when many activities and groups are starting up again, it is also time toconsider helping the parish by volunteering for one of our many ministries. All of our liturgical ministries need additional help.Many of our groups, such as St. Vincent de Paul, and the Knights of Columbus can always use additional members.

All of us are called, not just to watch, but to “Build the City of God.”
