Behold the Lamb of God

01-15-2023Weekly ReflectionFr. Simon Osuchukwu

Beloved in Christ,

As we welcome the second Sunday in Ordinary time of the Liturgical Year, let us behold Jesus Christ the Lamb of God as the Gospel tells us, with love and humility to draw mercy and strength from Him. The USCCB has encouraged us to continue this year to preach and promote the Eucharistic Revival Campaign in our different parish levels. The focus of the Eucharistic Revival is on the Real Presence. We are called to believe and preach that the Blessed Eucharist is the Body, Soul and Divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ (CCC), and our food for eternal life (John 6:54).

As a family at St. Bernard, let us continue to educate ourselves more on reverence and increase deeply our understanding of the Real Presence. We are encouraged to encounter Our Lord with reverence in the Eucharist at Mass and in spending a little more time with Him in Adoration where He is looking at us and we are looking at Jesus.

In order to give us the opportunity to spend a little more time with Jesus in Adoration, Fr. Mike and I have decided to add all day Exposition and Adoration on the first Wednesday of every Month, immediately after the daily Mass from 10:00am-6:00pm with the Divine Mercy Chaplet at 6:00pm, Benediction and Mass at 7:00pm. This is in addition to our regular Wednesday Adoration. We are inviting all of you to be part of this Eucharistic Revival at St. Bernard’s.

God Bless,
Fr. Simon
