Gifts from Bethlehem

I know, I am always asking you to slow down, especially in these busy seasons preparing for something special from our God. Next weekend, we will have our annual “Bethlehem Gift Shop”, as Ayman will again be here with woodcarvings from the Holy Land. Ok, you can do some Christmas shopping!

As you may know, there are a few of us who are members of the Knights and Dames of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem in our parish. Our whole purpose is to support our brothers and sisters in the Holy Land. During Covid times, when pilgrimages were not allowed, the Christians suffered especially hard. Purchasing gifts from the Holy Land is one way to support them and show we are with them in their struggles.

I have been to the shop where these gifts are sold in Bethlehem and I know that the prices we pay here are the same as there. Please take some time after Mass to see the beautiful work and perhaps to find something special for someone as a gift.

May there be Peace in the Holy Land, especially during Advent,
