Some of you know that I am on the Advisory Council for Nazareth House, our diocesan seminary. This is for the first year or two of seminary and it has proven already to be successful. In fact, the National Conference of Catholic Bishops just put out their revised Program for Priestly Formation and they are advising this same idea for all dioceses in the country.

It has been my pleasure to get to know these men before they go to major seminary and I am proud of them all. This year we have twelve men living at Nazareth House.

At our recent meeting, Fr. Kurt Perera, our new Vocation Director, talked to us about a new program to help young men discerning their calling from God, either to Matrimony or to Holy Orders. Fr. Kurt is having small, local groups gather for six weeks to learn and talk about vocations. It is a time to learn but also to talk with others considering their future lives.

If anyone is interested in joining a group please talk with me or contact Fr. Kurt. There is no pressure to make decisions but we want to help you plan for your future with God.
