Palm Sunday

04-10-2022Weekly ReflectionFr. Michael Straley

And so we have begun the holiest week of the year. We have walked all through Lent to Jerusalem with our Lord, and now we are within the city. This week will be an emotional week if we truly enter into it.

Thursday evening we will celebrate the Lord’s Supper with the apostles and then walk with our Lord to the Altar of Repose (Gethsemane where we wait and pray until 10 pm. Our Lord is then taken away!

Friday there is no Mass, we have the opportunity for confession from 10 am until noon. At 3 pm we are with the Lord at the Cross, we receive communion after venerating His Holy Cross. Stations of the Cross are at 7 pm.

Again on Saturday there is no Mass as we prepare for the Easter Vigil. The Vigil begins at 7:30 pm on the plaza with the lighting of the Easter Candle and the procession into the church for Mass. Remember this Mass is usually 3 hours long: we celebrate all of Salvation History, we initiate new members into the sacraments of our church, and celebrate our own communion with our Risen Lord.

Please come to all that you are able to attend, and be with us in prayer if you cannot attend. If you come to the Easter Vigil you can come again on Easter Sunday if you choose. The Mass times on Easter Sunday are different so please watch the bulletin for times.
