Opportunities for Giving

One of the things pastors hear often is: “The Church is always asking for money!” I answer “yes”, because second only the preaching the Kingdom of God, Jesus talked about money and how we use the gifts God gives us more and any other subject. There are two points I like to point out:

First, for most our utility bills go up almost every year and the same is for our parish. As we grow and have more activities our utility bills also grow. Our wonderful staff deserves a proper raise every year. As you see, our expenses rise just at yours do at home. Unfortunately, most people tend to get into the habit of giving the same amount every week or month for years.

Second, in addition to our regular offerings, we often have special collections and even other fund raising opportunities for you to support. Our Church advises you to tithe 5% to the parish and 5% to other charities of your choice. Since I prefer not to make that choice for you, we often have many opportunities; please do not feel obligated to each of them, but support those that touch your hearts.
