Weekly Holy Hour starts in September

On Holy Thursday this year, Bishop Olmsted released his latest Apostolic Exhortation, Veneremur Cernui. I hope you have had a chance to read it, if not, you can see it on the Diocesan webpage. Bishop Olmsted talks about the importance of the Eucharist in our lives as Catholics.

Fr. Simon and I have talked about what our bishop wrote and have decided that our parish will begin having a weekly Holy Hour (or more) with the Blessed Sacrament exposed. We will begin this in September; it will be every Wednesday beginning at 3:00pm, the hour of our Lord’s death.

I hope this will be an opportunity, especially for families to celebrate our Lord’s many gifts to us and to teach our children that Jesus is present to us always.
