Find a Catholic Newman Center at College

07-18-2021Weekly ReflectionFr. Michael Straley

I know many of you will have students leaving for college or university soon, some for the first time. Please remember to suggest that they find the Catholic Newman Center quickly before they start other routines.

The Newman Center (or Catholic Center at some universities) is a place to meet students with similar values as your students. Especially if they are attending a state university, it is a place to get help if a professor begins to attack their Catholic faith. As a former Newman Center Director I can attest to this sad situation.

Newman Centers provide Mass, fellowship, and opportunities for growth in faith. Many also provide retreats during the year and most will have a priest available if he is not in residence.
