1st Week of Advent

11-28-2021Fr. Michael Straley

We are beginning Advent; for the Church this is the beginning of a new liturgical year. Advent is the time of preparation to receive the gift of the Incarnation of the our Lord. It is not Christmas yet! I usually advise our groups to celebrate Advent rather than Christmas. For Catholics, Christmas is a season following the birth of our Lord. For secular folks, Christmas starts sometime in the Fall and concludes with Christmas Day.

Church Envelopes

We have been cleaning up records and purging outdated files from our record keeping system. One of the areas we have been working in is the distribution of giving envelopes.

2021-2023 Synod Roundtable

We invite you to participate in a roundtable discussion in January to discuss different matters of the Church; topics will range from the joys we experience of being Catholic to what are the areas for change for our Church and what steps can be taken.

An Apostolic Exhortation on the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist

In new Apostolic Letter, Bishop Olmsted calls upon priests and laity to embrace a deeper love for and understanding of the Eucharist as the source and summit of the Catholic Faith.

"Maturing in faith, seeking spiritual renewal, we accept the challenge to serve and minister to the growing needs of our parishioners and witness through compassionate outreach to the less fortunate and underserved in our community."
